Who we are and how to contact us

The Leadership and Management Awards operates THELM at thelmawards.co.uk, an editorial website about leadership, management and workplace recognition. For enquiries about this policy or your personal information, email [email protected].

Information we use

When you email us, we receive your email address, the name you provide and the contents of your message. We use this information to respond to your enquiry, deal with corrections or privacy requests, and keep any correspondence needed to resolve the matter.

Our hosting and website security systems process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, requested pages and the time of a request. This helps deliver the website, diagnose faults and prevent spam, fraud and unauthorised access.

Comments

If you leave a comment where comments are available, we collect the information entered in the form, together with your IP address and browser information for spam detection. Your comment and the name you choose may be published. Your email address is not displayed with your comment. Please do not include sensitive personal information in a public comment.

If Gravatar is used to display a profile image, a hash derived from your email address may be sent to that service. See Automattic’s privacy policy.

Cookies and external services

We do not use analytics tracking, advertising or affiliate arrangements.

WordPress uses cookies for features such as signing in and remembering preferences. If you choose to save your details when commenting, comment cookies can remember your name, email address and website for one year. Login cookies normally last two days, or two weeks if “Remember Me” is selected; display preference cookies can last one year. These login features primarily concern authorised site users.

External fonts and embedded content, such as videos, may require your browser to connect to another provider. That provider may receive technical information about the connection and, for embedded content, use its own cookies. External websites reached through our links have their own privacy policies. You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings; blocking necessary cookies may affect some features.

Why we use personal information

We rely on our legitimate interests in operating a secure editorial website, responding to enquiries and moderating comments, while considering the rights of the people concerned. Where we must retain or disclose information to meet a legal obligation, that obligation is the basis for doing so. Where optional cookies require consent, you can withdraw that consent through the relevant controls or your browser.

Who can receive information

Information may be processed by providers that support website hosting, content delivery, email and security, where needed to provide those services. We may also disclose information when required by law or to investigate misuse of the website. We do not sell personal information.

External service providers may operate outside the UK. Their privacy notices explain their processing locations and any applicable transfer safeguards. Contact us if you need information about a particular service used on this site.

How long we keep information

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to respond and deal with follow-up matters or applicable legal requirements. Published comments and their moderation records may remain while the related discussion is available, unless removal is appropriate or requested. Technical and security records are retained according to the needs and settings of the relevant hosting or security service. You can contact us about the retention of information relating to you.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict its use, object to processing, or receive a portable copy where that right applies. If processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it. These rights are subject to the conditions and exemptions in applicable data protection law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Send requests to [email protected]. You may also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK data protection regulator.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change. The date above shows when it was last revised.
